11.2.10 The Shen Race

The Shen are a tall, slender race from the planet Kovalar. The range of hues in their jeweled eyes and luminous skin makes them one of the most colorful races in the sector, which is a stark contrast to their generally stoic temperament.

Shen are recognizable by their distinctive coronae: in males, the corona is a symmetrical set of four large horns; in females, the feature is made up of one central horn and many smaller ones that fan out around the head. They also exhibit tentacles: at least two pairs grow from the base of the jaw, while others may extend from the back of the head, particularly in females.

Shen are strict vegetarians, unable to eat meat and slightly repulsed by those who do. As noted above, they rarely display emotion, but as they have an extremely low threshold for intoxication, even a single drink can transform a Shen into a raucous and boisterous companion.
