6.12 Food and Drink

Thanks to the modern technology of wetwiring, you will never suffer from traditional hunger and thirst in Starmourn!

However, if you would like to achieve a certain build (see HELP APPEARANCE), you will need to maintain a certain level of caloric intake and/or output. All food and drink contains calories, while anything that uses balance burns them off - e.g. if you're hunting a lot you may suddenly find yourself emaciated.
Tips: You can track your caloric intake/output with a LUCENT FitBod device.
You can use a yoga mat or other gym equipment to burn calories.
There are also artifacts and collectible sets available for this!

We encourage you to get to know the broad variety of gastronomic and mixological (sure it's a word) delights available to you!

When you get your hands on some, there are some basic commands:

EAT <food>
DRINK <liquid/container>
SMELL <food/drink>
TASTE <food/drink>

(Note: Smell and taste do not work on every item (yet!), as many were added before this was possible. But do try!)

Also, we strongly recommend you look at:

WHERE DO I FIND IT?
-------------------

As well as from those with the Cuisine tradeskill. We encourage you to get to know the broad variety of gastronomic delights available to you!

Trade terminals are the best place to find player-designed food and drink, there are many of these throughout the sector, and currently 4 separate trade networks for each of the factions and Omni.

NPC shops are also great places to sample the local cuisine and beverages.

Both of these things can be found using the DIRECTORY <keyword/all> command!

Tip: The keywords FOOD, DRINK, (FOOD) and (LIQUIDCONTAINER) will work to
find all the places that sell those things in an area, or on the
trade terminals, as well as more specific search terms.

FOOD
-------------------

To consume a food item, simply EAT <food>.

DRINKS
-------------------

Drinks are stored in containers that come in various shapes and sizes. As such, each liquid container can store a varying amount of liquid inside it. If you probe such a container, you will see how much liquid is left inside of it.

POUR [amount] <what> INTO <container> Transfer liquid from one container to
                                       another
EMPTY <container> Completely empty a container of its
                                       liquid contents
FILL <what> FROM WORKBENCH Fill your empty liquid container from a
                                       mixologists workbench/still/etc.
SIP <container/liquid> Drink 1 sip of the liquid.
DRINK <container/liquid> Drink 2 sips of the liquid.
SWIG <container/liquid> Drink 5 sips of the liquid.
GULP <container/liquid> Drink 8 sips of the liquid.
DRAUGHT/DRAFT <container/liquid> Drink 10 sips of the liquid.

If you would like to be able to create your own drinks, you will need to become a mixologist (see HELP MIXOLOGY).

Alcohol
-------------------

See HELP ALCOHOL!

Poison
-------------------

It is possible to come across poisons in your travels across the Sector. Naturally, consuming poison will have a negative effect on your health. Just how negative will depend on the strength of the poison. There is no way to determine this strength in advance but know that poison can range from very mild to outright killing you on the spot.
