In a fit of questionable holiday cheer, ol’ papa Ironbeard gave his favorite helper Barry a little too much leeway for a special Winterflame project, and now he needs YOUR assistance to keep the celebrations alive.
Throughout the month of December, this year’s Winterflame event will let you send anonymous gifts and custom festive messages to players not only here in our own Starmourn sector, but across all of the Iron Realms games.
How to Participate
Earn up to 10 wrapping papers per day by completing Daily Credits, then wrap up something generous, lovely, or just plain silly and help spread Cheer! You’ll also get Iron Coins for your efforts which you can spend in the special event shop in the Winterflame Fair grounds.
Presents are delivered in waves roughly once every hour, so keep an eye out, you never know when something strange (or suspiciously well-wrapped) might land in your hands. Opening your gift will grant you a present you can treasure from the realms, as well as a random boon including a variety of XP boosts, marks, credits, or lessons! Gifts from the “Creature” category will release new mobs from the other games for a new experience to even our most seasoned vets.
As players from each of the games send out gifts, you will collectively fill a global cheer meter as noted in WINTERFLAME STATUS. Every present nudges it higher, so be warned – A perfectly cheery Starmourn sector might draw malicious intent from some powerful, arguably mythical figures…
A Month Of Celebration and PRIZES
Senders will also earn milestone rewards as they help Ironbeard with his deliveries, receiving special prizes when they reach 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 presents sent.
Every present you send also grants you a ticket in the Winterflame lottery. At the end of the event, three lucky winners from each game will receive credit prizes:
1st prize: 1000 credits
2nd prize: 500 credits
3rd prize: 250 credits
Everyone who sends a gift becomes eligible to receive gifts as well, so the more people who take part, the more Winterflame cheer will be flying around the worlds.
Oh! As if that wasn’t enough, you’ll get a Rainbow Present for every 10 hours you spend in game with us this month, up to 8 rainbow gifts. Remember each gift you open will share the rewards with everyone in the room!

It’s officially Halloween season around the earthly globe, which means it’s Rapadruk season in Starmourn! Here’s some of what you can expect in this month’s content:
- Scare the Storytellers has been updated this year, including a new in-game integration for winning entries and the chance to earn legacy honors titles starting next year. Everyone is encouraged to participate – no minimum MIL or experience required!

- Candy Dan is once more haunting the Agog Walk of Heroes with tales of Rapadruk terror and glee. He’s also sent out his band of clones out to all the racial homeworlds to spread cheer and sugar to any spacers bold enough to find them.
- The Drukula Brothers’ Rapa’ruk Mansion at mindsim address v15087 is once again open for exploration! Will you take the path of blood and terror (PvE), or the haunting path of nightmare tales (Puzzles)? Either one will challenge your understanding of our historic Scare the Storytellers contest winners and give you the chance to immerse into Starmourn lore.

Phase Two of Starmourn’s ongoing Vihana Research event took place this weekend!

Marlee Xalex and his team of spacers ventured out into the stars with the goal of securing the Kali Warship wreckage as a research base for their efforts.
What better place to investigate the Ishvana than on their own ship outfitted with their own tech?

A compilation of reports from the team’s efforts will follow, hopefully shedding some light on the mission.

- Holg V’lani piloted the team on the Huo’zh’a out to the wreckage. From there, the intrepid spacers donned their space suits and EVA’d onto the site.
- Tuesday, Veda, and Zarrach provided ground support in taking out lingering threats aboard the wreckage and securing the hackers’ corporeal forms while they were in the grid.
- Lord Commander Picram and Marlee identified a perfect location for the modular power core that will supplement the ship’s systems to keep the team’s efforts under the radar while also providing enough power to get the most crucial functions back online including basic air filtration, lights, and life safety measures.
- Lupisentia and Sebastian hacked the wreckage’s mainframe and communications networks, utilizing a set of custom fabricated terminals with Ishvana-sourced datastreams to access the native lines more effectively. Despite a total of three hack failures, they were able to fight into the systems and activate some unique codework which is currently working its way through the system to free up possible intel on Ishvana operations.
- Sazabi in his BEAST suit, Red, secured several loose metal panels and structural elements to build out temporary walls around the existing research lab, allowing life support systems to operate at a higher efficiency and gravity systems to engage in that enclosed room.
- An Ishvana counterhack identified the spacers’ locations for a short moment, resulting in a massive Ishvana incursion on the subsector. Holg, already in the stars, fired up his weaponry immediately and took action. Lord Commander Picram was also able to warp home and return with its own ship, bolstering the team’s defenses. Together, the two captains drove off the Ishvana threat – Hopefully for good.
- Marlee is now working on procuring additional research elements, streamlining access to the wreckage, and procuring the first specimen for research.

Faction Challenge: Cupcake Tasting (9/12)
The Faction Tutors Joey Fritz (SD), Kibir Liru (SH), and Shar Gral (CA) are seeking support from their Factions to end a dispute – Whose Faction has the best #Taste?
Their first challenge is to create a PERFECT cupcake, highlighting the local fare and personality of your Faction.
To participate: Design a new CUPCAKE, send the finished product to JOEY FRITZ (an NPC) via in-game mail before the event starts, and message Argus to confirm the design #. You can also send the cupcake right to Argus if needed.
During the event, the design tutors will put out the cupcakes for attendees to taste, and for the designers to explain if they’d like, then the tutors will put it to a vote! We’ll see if the outcome can truly determine who has the most TASTE or they’ll need more convincing…
Vihana Research: Taking the Kali Warship (9/13)
Join Marlee Xalex’s crew of brave spacers to secure the Kali Warship wreckage as a research facility as part of our ongoing Vihana Research event series.
CLAN JOIN KALI_RESEARCH in game to be part of the crew, get access to research logs, and coordinate with other players!
Teams:
- Picram: Coordinating drop off of power supply and connecting it to the ship.
- Sazabi: Physically securing the research bay.
- Lupisentia/Sebastian: Hacking the comms systems to activate life support and block transmissions.
- Akiko: Outfitting the research bay with equipment and setting up supplies.
- Marlee: Funding, supplies, and establishing a wormhole connection from Lamentations to the wreckage.
Kali Warship Wreckage: In the CA-3430 zone within the Narchspace subsector of Starmourn space.
** Note – The wreckage is currently in antigravity and must be ELO Space Walked into. Spacers will take damage while in the craft until it is secured and may find themselves in a cloning vat during this mission.

Phase 1 of our Vihana Research event has officially begun!
Players participating in the event must now consider ways to secure the Kali Warship from Ishvana intrusion or oversight. The next event stage will involve further exploration into the “abandoned” ship and establishing security protocols. Read the in-game summary below for details:

Research Plan: Phase One

The Ishvana threat has grown ever-stronger, its influence perverting the Starmourn sector with underground Facilities run by cruel Overseers and overridden with dangerous creatures called Vihana. I believe our only chance to fight back is to understand how these Vihana are created and to hopefully identify a critical weakness that will enable us to destroy them for good.
Our efforts must begin by securing a lab facility for our research. After reviewing with the assembled spacers interested in joining the crew, we’ve decided to work on securing the abandoned and damaged Kali Warship in neutral space.
As this is a near-destroyed Ishvana vessel, we believe the threat will not be monitoring its own decimated property. Worst case scenario, the aegisphere near it is still semi-active and will destroy it in finality if needed. The warship has already been cleansed of biological threats and contaminants, though this needs to be confirmed upon re-entry as we may find new areas of the ship or new threats, especially as we start attempting to access its systems.
I will work with my shadow network to secure a direct-port wormhole from the Lamentations backroom into the Kali Warship. Note that actually using it will require us to fly in first and place the wormhole’s sibling component, power it, and so forth. If you are not already familiar with your EVO systems, please acquaint yourself with them soon.
We will also need to secure the ship from any conceivable threat. I ask that you all take some time to consider these potential threats and come up with possible solutions. You may post them into the “news” in this commline with peace of mind – We are on an unstructured datastream run through Fray loop-console redirects with an obfuscated encryption that would blow even the most advanced hackers away. In short – We’re secure here.
