Join the Team! Recruiting Storytellers for the Starmourn Sector

By Argus | March 5, 2026 |
An aged, retro computer console with a prominent, blocky form occupies the foreground. Its screen displays "Storytellers Wanted" in a glowing, emerald green, pixelated font reminiscent of classic video games, noting the open applications for the volunteer role in the Starmourn game development sphere.
Will you answer the call?

Open call for Storyteller applications!

The Storyteller role for Starmourn has grown a lot and now offers much more flexibility for the creative-minded spacers who choose to rise to the occasion.

We are looking for folks who would like to peak behind the curtain and run events, create areas, puppet NPCs and the like. I could use the help now that I’m taking a step back, and I’d really like to see the Starmourn sector continue its expansion.

If you are interested, please message me (Argus) on Discord with:

  • Your Character Name & Your IRL Name
  • Why you want to be a Storyteller
  • What project(s) you want to work on
  • A writing sample (Draft a new NPC with a full desc and short backstory)
  • Your time zone – for availability considerations

There is no formal time expectation, however we do expect volunteers to be available for a reasonable time to complete projects consistently and to follow through on any projects you pick up. You will also be required to sign an NDA, so keep that in mind.

Feel free to message me with any questions!

Ready for a legendary team up? Try our newest feature: Looking For Group

By Argus | March 3, 2026 |
New Feature: Looking for Group! The image depicts a three-person crew approaching a craggy mountainside with a glowing crack up the facade, seemingly an entrance to some kind of adventure.

For those days when you want to do a group activity, but don’t know how to ask. Now you can tag yourself via Looking For Group, and you can see a list of anyone who’s already flagged themself for a group activity.

Looking for Group (LFG) Syntax

  • LFG ADD <reason> Add yourself as available for a group.
  • LFG UPDATE <reason> Change the reason on your group posting.
  • LFG REMOVE Removes you from the grouping list.
  • LFG ON/OFF Toggle visibility of the LFG Channel.
  • LFG WHO Find others looking for a group.

Players also have access to an LFG channel now which will report when someone adds a new group or updates their group’s purpose. These updates will report to the Discord’s ingamealerts channel in case someone offline might be enticed to team up!

Chat on the channel in game with LFGT <MSG> and check what happened while you were away with HISTORY LFG. This channel should be considered IN CHARACTER as much as possible. If you want to ask questions or coordinate OOC, take it to Cesspool or Discord or Crew Chat please.

Please keep in mind that you’ll need to restart your group inquiry if you disconnect or log off as the system will wipe your post from the LFG boards.

Team up to take on Facilities, clear out a hunting zone, quest together, mine in a specific sector, strike up a band, or whatever piques your interest that day!

Note: This feature does NOT create crews or divide up XP/marks/resource gains. It’s purely meant to help people find other folks to play with. Your status on the LFG board with clear if you log out or disconnect.

Referral System Now Live! Refer A Friend for New Adventures today.

By Argus | January 24, 2026 |
Two humanoid figured in cloaks stand atop a stairwell, reaching out to each other. The background is all clouds and floating castle islands in comforting blue-gray shades. Golden text above the figures reads "Play With Friends"

The revamped Referral System is now live!

Got a friend who would actually click with Starmourn, or a returning veteran you have been trying to lure back? We just made it easier to bring them in, and you both get rewarded for sticking with it as they play.

Read HELP REFERRALS for all specifics and exact rules.

Whats new

  • Two referral types: New Player and Returning Player.
  • Rewards for the player and the referring player when milestones are hit.
  • A personal referral link plus in-game tracking for referrals and rewards.

How it works

  • Get your personal link with REFER LINK, then share it.
  • New Players: they sign up using your link and confirm you as referrer during their first character creation. If they forgot the link, they can still confirm with REFER CONFIRM <PLAYER> within 25 hours of total playtime.
  • Returning Players: If they log in using your link, you’re automatically confirmed as referrer. They can also confirm with REFER <PLAYER> during their first login session after 90+ days of inactivity, and have not been referred in the last year.
  • No self-referrals to alt accounts. Do not troll newbies to earn bonuses, this can result in a permanent ban on referring. Abuse can revoke rewards and add penalties. Referrer must be in good standing.
  • Returning invites are limited to one per registration per real-life year.

Eligibility

  • New player referrals require the new player to not already have an account for the game.
  • Returning referrals require the player to be fully inactive for 90+ days, have no active characters, and have not been referred in the last year.

Rewards

  • Rewards are based on milestones tied to referral type.
  • Easier milestones award Unbound Credits, harder milestones award Iron Forged Bonds which may be used in a new exclusive shop on Omni (IN from the main station, or WALK TO URSAN)
  • Some of the current rewards include exclusive genecust/shipcust options, limited run event pets, and a totally new weapon set. More to come – so stay tuned and start referring!

Again, please read HELP REFERRALS for all specifics and exact rules.

By Argus | January 8, 2026 |

It’s been a hectic year in the Starmourn sector, but we’re so happy to have the chance to celebrate another year with you all in our special corner of the internet.

Good ol’ twenty-twenty-five saw some pretty big releases including:

With all this + bonus fixes like ta-deth crystal recalculations, free gender changes, recurring UPCOMING events, filtering loyals, and beyond, our little volunteer team has been working hard to make the player experience in Starmourn smoother and more fun!

We hope you’ve enjoyed your time in the Starmourn Sector this year and are REALLY looking forward to everything in the works for 2026, with a focus on community, events, and worldbuilding!

See you there, spacer!

A tale as old as time… It’s Winterflame Season!

By Argus | December 3, 2025 |

In a fit of questionable holiday cheer, ol’ papa Ironbeard gave his favorite helper Barry a little too much leeway for a special Winterflame project, and now he needs YOUR assistance to keep the celebrations alive.

Throughout the month of December, this year’s Winterflame event will let you send anonymous gifts and custom festive messages to players not only here in our own Starmourn sector, but across all of the Iron Realms games.

How to Participate

Earn up to 10 wrapping papers per day by completing Daily Credits, then wrap up something generous, lovely, or just plain silly and help spread Cheer! You’ll also get Iron Coins for your efforts which you can spend in the special event shop in the Winterflame Fair grounds.

Presents are delivered in waves roughly once every hour, so keep an eye out, you never know when something strange (or suspiciously well-wrapped) might land in your hands. Opening your gift will grant you a present you can treasure from the realms, as well as a random boon including a variety of XP boosts, marks, credits, or lessons! Gifts from the “Creature” category will release new mobs from the other games for a new experience to even our most seasoned vets.

As players from each of the games send out gifts, you will collectively fill a global cheer meter as noted in WINTERFLAME STATUS. Every present nudges it higher, so be warned – A perfectly cheery Starmourn sector might draw malicious intent from some powerful, arguably mythical figures…

A Month Of Celebration and PRIZES

Senders will also earn milestone rewards as they help Ironbeard with his deliveries, receiving special prizes when they reach 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 presents sent.

Every present you send also grants you a ticket in the Winterflame lottery. At the end of the event, three lucky winners from each game will receive credit prizes:

1st prize: 1000 credits
2nd prize: 500 credits
3rd prize: 250 credits

Everyone who sends a gift becomes eligible to receive gifts as well, so the more people who take part, the more Winterflame cheer will be flying around the worlds.

Oh! As if that wasn’t enough, you’ll get a Rainbow Present for every 10 hours you spend in game with us this month, up to 8 rainbow gifts. Remember each gift you open will share the rewards with everyone in the room!

Dive In, Spacer!

Make sure you read HELP WINTERFLAME PRESENTS in game for full details on how to get involved, what you can send, and the commands you will need. For more information on Winterflame and Flame Day as cultural celebrations of our Tukkav brethren, check out HELP WINTERFLAME.

Start stocking up on wrapping paper and get ready to surprise your fellow Starmourn adventurers and beyond. It’s officially Winterflame!
