BIG NEWS! Introducing Challenge 75 – tell your friends!

Blast off in a race to level 75.

Attention Starmourn!!! As we all know, new players are the lifeblood of any mud, and Starmourn is no exception to that rule. That’s why we are introducing CHALLENGE 75, a brand new initiative to encourage character creation, participation, and retention.

For a limited time only, characters created after November 1st, 2020 will have the opportunity to earn 750 CREDITS if they meet a few specific criteria in the first 30 days following their creation.

750 credits is a lot, and we’re just giving it away for players who manage to make it to the finish line! With 750 credits you can load up on powerful artifacts, purchase collectible card packets, customize items, and much more.

The criteria are as follows! In your first 30 days of creation, you must:

  • Gain level 75
  • Participate in 25 Cosmpiercer events or Arena encounters (duels/spars count, but only one per day!)
  • Deposit 375 of any resource into their faction’s commodity storage.
Eligible players can type ‘newbiechallenge’ at any time to track their progress.

Veteran Starmourn players, we know you want more people around who recognize just how great the game has become. So if you’ve been badgering your friends to play but just can’t get them to commit, this might be the motivation they need. If you haven’t been sure how to contribute to the community, this is your opportunity to help both us and you out.

We’re asking you to tell your pals, email your grandma, write to your mayor, ask your skywriting neighbor for a favor, and shout it from the mountaintops.

With your help, and the Challenge 75 initiative, we’re going to like, retweet, reblog, upvote, and +1 our way to a jam-packed who list again. Good luck, everyone!

Seriously? Level 75 in 30 days?! As a player for quit awhile back, I am often contemplating to return. If you think this is a motivational factor..? Nope, that ain’t it. Unless things changed, level 75 in 30 days just unattainable unless one dedicates 8 hours of bashing. And nevermind the learning curve that will eat into it. I think I will pass.

Thanks for the comment. I think you’ll find that the level curve is much easier now. I hope that help with your concern.

Well, there’s no public list of experience per level, but I’m guessing 74->75 is somewhere around 1.25-2 million experience. That’s just based on the differences between levels I’ve seen so far. Given the average, level-scaled foe gives a whopping 2k (with some active bonus that also isn’t visible, I think), that’s between 600 and 1000 kills. Sooo, an 8 hour killing spree just to finish it off, and quests can take a chunk out of that, but not more than an hour or two with most having daily cooldowns. I guess it’s a big reward for a reason.

Hello! I just wanted to let you know – I did 1 to 75 in six days, without spending 8 hours a day bashing! It took me a total of about 16 hours, between 2 to 3 hours a day of bashing & questing.

Oh, and I left this out but – bashing in Starmourn as a group is now possible, so higher level players can (and most definitely will!) help you get there even faster!

Man, it would be nice to have 16 free hours in a week. I could never have that many hours free to play this game within 6 days, but that’s amazing you were able to achieve that!! Lol I doubt I’d have 7 free hours to dedicate to this game in a week. Having 3 hours in a week would be something!

(I meant something I could do at the end. Having 3 hours a week would be something I could do. But doubtful much more than that).

I also have to say that level 75 (as adult who works full time and also has other life/responsibilities that exist), isn’t super feasible in 30 days either. I love Iron realms, and I actually do play with a new character, but I wouldn’t even bother to try to do this. And that’s having no need for a learning curve on how to play MUDs/Iron Realms games (but still being new to Starmourn specifically).

I would have preferred it be a longer time period but actually achievable. This, for me, is not an incentive. Not unless all you do is play Starmourn, which again, I have a life outside of it (as I feel like a lot of people do). Playing a couple hours a week is more the norm for me.

After chores (cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, random chores), doctors, taking care of my parents, working 8-5pm, news, fitness routine, plants, friends/family, I’m lucky when there is extra time in life lol. I can’t spend every hour of free time playing. It’s not sustainable.

Sure, there is group bashing as per comment, but the times I can log on seem to be pretty empty of other players sadly.
