94.7 Giftcatchers

Each December in Starmourn, giftcatchers are available in celebration of Winterflame!

"Giftcatchers" are a Winterflame tradition that evolved from the Tukkav custom of hanging gift-laden nets in the doorways of their huts before a hunt.  Originally meant to appease the local spirits, the custom became associated with prosperity and generosity over time. It was enthusiastically adopted by offworld celebrants as an integral part of Winterflame gift-giving.

Giftcatchers come in four varieties: Simple, Silver, Gold and Platinum, 
with each subsequent tier yielding greater prizes and rewards than the one
before it. To be used, they first need to be hung. Then, one must simply wait until the Giftcatcher is filled with prizes.

HANG GIFTCATCHER FOR ME                       
        - Hang a giftcatcher up for yourself, and it will be filled with a prize
          on the next new day!

HANG GIFTCATCHER FOR <player> [ANONYMOUS] 
        - Hang up a giftcatcher for another adventurer, either openly or
          anonymously. The lucky recipient will then be able to open it once
          it has been filled!

OPEN GIFTCATCHER
        - Once Ironbeard has appeared and filled up your stocking, open it to
          see what gifts are inside!

Tracker's and hunter's giftcatchers are special and fill up only on Christmas and New Year's Day!

Tracker = 25th December
Hunter = 31st Dec/1st Jan

These special giftcatchers are each worth 2x the type of giftcatcher they belong to, but only fill on their own special day as bove

GIFTCATCHER PRIZES
===============

Each Giftcatcher is worth a minimum amount of credits and the prizes are drawn from a pool that contains the following:
- Marks
- Credits
- Vanity items
- Minipets
- Artifacts costing 100cr
- Artifacts costing 250-275cr
- Artifacts costing 800cr
- Goredog fight tickets
- Thematic genevaults
- Thematic toys

If a prize is drawn that is valued less than the minimum value for a giftcatcher, another prize will be drawn and so on until you reach at least the minimum value.

A Silver giftcatcher is worth 4x a simple giftcatchers
A Gold giftcatcher is worth 11x a simple giftcatcher
A Platinum giftcatcher is worth 37x a simple giftcatcher
