14.2 Credits

What are credits?
-----------------
Credits are a valuable currency, something like Marks, that can be used for lots of things including:
   - Buying or upgrading artifacts
   - Selling to or trading with others
   - Converting into lessons
   - Customizations
   - Buying a Tradeskill permit

There are four kinds of credits:

Unbound Credits Something you buy from the website or other players.

Bound Credits Credits which have been "bound" to your character.
Only you can use them; they can never be bought,
                           sold, or transferred.

Membership Credits Credits acquired by having an Elite Membership
                           (https://www.starmourn.com/credits/#)

Artifact Upgrade Credits that can be used only for upgrading
Credits artifacts (see HELP ARTIFACT UPGRADES)

To see how many credits you have, type CREDIT REPORT.

To have a look at all associated commands, type CREDITS.

How do I get credits?
---------------------
Unbound Credits can be acquired in several ways, such as:
   - Direct purchase from the website (http://www.starmourn.com/credits)
   - From other players via transfers
   - Promo prizes

Bound Credits can be acquired in many ways, such as:
   - Partaking in DAILYCREDITS tasks - which start at a max of 20 per day, but
increase to as much as 45+ if you raise your streak! That's a possible 300+
     FREE credits a week!
   - By binding unbound credits (which gets you a considerable lesson bonus for
     the first 2500!)
   - From other players on the credit market (see HELP CREDIT MARKET)
   - Gaining streak honors
   - Achieving certain levels of experience
   - Trading in artifacts
   - Trading in promo items

**Credits purchased using marks from CREDITS FOR SALE will be bound credits**

What can I do with credits?
---------------------------
Unbound credits can only be used in these ways:
   - Transfer to other players
   - Sell on the credit market for Marks (see HELP CREDIT MARKET)
   - Buy collectibles on the collectibles market
   - Bind/convert to Bound Credits.

Once credits are bound (converted to Bound Credits) then you may:
   - Convert credits to lessons (see below).
   - Buy collectibles directly in random packets.
   - Pay for customizations.
   - Buy a tradeskill license.
   - Purchase artifacts (see HELP ARTIFACTS).
   - Use them for stats resets and other actions in the game that have a one-off
     credits cost.

*Note: The person to whom you are transferring credits will need to be online

credits for free, then specify 0 marks. This works at any time and does not
require the agreement of the recipient.

A few important notes:
----------------------
**Credits are strictly non-refundable.**

You may not transfer credits obtained within Starmourn (i.e. not purchased with real world money from Starmourn) to any of your alternate adventurers.

Starmourn is a functioning world, and while we guarantee you will not lose any of the credits you buy, no such guarantee can be provided for what you purchase
with the credits themselves. Naturally, we wouldn't be in business very long if
this happened frequently, but as it is a world, your actions have consequences,
and the actions of others can result in consequences for you. It's this
dynamism in the nature of the world that people enjoy about the Iron Realms. Thus, it is possible that the perceived or real value of the things you purchase with credits, or your ability to use those things, may both rise and decline during the course of play.
